I liked the first film quite a bit. I think these Shrek films (already slated for 2 more sequels, a total of 4 thus far are confirmed) are the best films for older people and younger peopel to watch. The movie can be a gross like funny, but not get nasty, and it also can be childish, but not too childish to where it makes the non-cutesy people wanna puke.
This film shows Shrek and his, wife meeting the in-laws in the far far away kingdom. The nly real big change and addition is the film is the character of Puss N’ Boots played by Antonio Banderas. This character is hilarious and alone makes the film worth watching. The film makes fun of a lot of things popular in society and still incorporates all the fairy tale characters. But I can’t tell you enough how great the Puss In Boots character is, he really made the movie funnier that it was.

Overall its about the same as the first film, maybe not AS funny becasue its the sequel and not the original. But the Puss In Boots character makes it funny and the Donkey character still gets some good lines in there.

If you liked the first one, you’ll like this one for sure, it’s got pretty much somthing for anyone who wants to go see an animated type of film.

KISS Tour

gene.jpgThe Rolling Stones might be the Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band, but KISS puts on the Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Show on Earth.

Sounds like a circus? That’s not far off: The electric group’s concerts have crazy, sci-fi costumes, explosive theatrics, garish makeup, plumes of fire and wild animals ( Gene Simmons, that is). And, oh yeah — the music.

Heavy metal lovers who want to rock and roll all night won’t want to miss Simmons, Paul Stanley and company, who have played more than 3,500 concerts in front of 78 million deranged fans over the past 30-plus years and who are headed for the Sound Advice Amphitheatre July 30 as part of VH1 Classic’s Rock the Nation tour.

You’re sure to hear driving hits like Calling Dr. Love, Detroit Rock City, Christine Sixteen, Love Gun, Lick It Up and, of course, Rock and Roll All Nite.

And that’s not all! KISS isn’t the only group that will pump it up: They’ll be joined by L.A. rock dudes Poison, who rose above the dreaded ”hair metal” label in the ’80s with anthems like Something to Believe In, Nothin’ But a Good Time, Look What the Cat Dragged In and their signature song, Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

Tickets for KISS and Poison ($25 festival lawn; $50 and $75 reserved seating) go on sale at 10 a.m. June 5.
